Santa Monica 10K Sept 12 2021- Back to Road Races!

I did my first race since the Coronavirus Pandemic started over a year and a half ago. The last race I ran was just shortly before Lockdown and it was the LA Marathon in 2020 which ended in Santa Monica along the beach. So it was odd to be running my first race since the pandemic in the same place where my last race ended.

It was a beautiful day. I still wore a mask. I saw tons of people without masks and it made me roll my eyes. I did, as you will see in the photos pull my mask down while I was running and when I knew I had distance between me and other people.

I ran the race in an average of 8 minute 8 second miles which I felt good about.

This is the line to pay for parking. This was a 45 minute line which is almost longer than it takes to run 10K!
