Marathons Past- The City of Los Angeles Marathon 2011

A very wet marathon in LA in 2011.

On March 20th 2011 I ran my fourth marathon, and my second City of Los Angeles Marathon. The course had changed since the first time I ran the LA Marathon in 2003. The new course went from Dodgers Stadium around downtown, through Hollywood, and then a long straight shot out to the beach in Santa Monica. Normally running in LA during the spring is perfect weather…not on March 20th 2011. An uncharacteristic rainstorm deluged the marathon. Cold and wet. This slowed me down and even at the very end of my race there was another major dumping of heavy rain and strong winds. Very memorable.
